planningThere are so many great things to do in and around Brattleboro.  If you are like us, we sometimes obsess over trying to figure out a “plan” when we travel.  So for those who want a plan, and for others who may just be wondering what there is to do around Brattleboro, we have now put together a sample itinerary of a great trip to Brattleboro Vermont.

Our sample covers a 5 night stay (we could have gone on even longer!) but combines a fun mix of outdoors, arts, entertainment, dining and of course some relaxing too.  You can check out what we have put together on our Inn website under the “Our Area” tab.

If you are from Vermont, or have any suggestions for the itinerary, we would love to hear your thoughts!  Leave us a comment or send us an email.  Let’s make it easy and fun for people to choose Brattleboro as their summer getaway!

Of course, we hope you’ll stay with us at Forty Putney Road Bed and Breakfast when you do take the trip to Vermont!

Attention Fellow Beer Enthusiasts

hftbscreenshot We have started up a video beer blog at HereForTheBeer.com. Amy and I have always enjoyed trying new things and have developed an appreciation of good beer together.  Those of you who have stayed with us at our Inn probably already knew about our love of microbrews, as we have a small pub of our own with over 30 to chose from.   Of course, if you haven’t stayed with us, what are you waiting for!

When we met we knew very little about the world of beers, but over the last 5 years or so that has certainly changed.  We have sampled hundreds of beers and can not wait to sample the next couple hundred.  We are at the point that we plan nearly every vacation around good beer and often take day and weekend trips just to visit beer bars, brew pubs and microbreweries.  What we have found through our travels is that beer is often located in really awesome towns and cities.  We always consider ourselves lucky to have found some of these gems.

That’s what this new site is all about.  Sharing our beer travels and experiences and learning more about beer with each trip.

So if you share our passion for beer, be sure to check out our new site and watch for more great beer videos there.

Of course, if you are looking for a great getaway WITH great beer, be sure to check out our Brattlboro Vermont Inn (Brattleboro is also the home of the legendary McNeils Brewery for you fellow beer geeks) and spend a night or two with us!
